November 8th and we headed for Ballintempo Forest, well...so we thought. We arrived at an entrance with a drive up past houses & came to a gate so gathered our bags & hiking boots & set off.
The walk began calm, quiet & flat with lovely views around Fermanagh well until we came to our first hill of the walk. There were no markers for a long time so we decided to follow an online map or just take a route as we did not know at this point that Google maps had taken us to the wrong entrance.
I didn’t take many photos on the trip but got a few nice ones on both my Sony A7ii & iPhone 11 pro. Tracey also got nice photos on her phone & of course, popped up in front of my camera to take my shots..grr.
We kept on walking & began to pick up the pace as I had to be back in Omagh for a certain time which made us have fun & a few laughs along the way. The top Tip for this walk is to FIND THE CORRECT ENTRANCE!! little did I know I would be walking 21k or more instead of 10-11k. It was worth it though. Yes, I felt Tired but also felt good, so good I went for another walk in town when I got home. Felt it the next day though.
Overall I would say this walk would be one I would go again but shorter distance & I would not go out of my way on a day away to do this one. Especially depending on the weather. I did feel proud of myself for walking that distance especially since we had set a target of a half marathon over two weekends but done it in one!
I continue to feel proud of myself health-wise & feel myself improving and walking better each weekend. These walks help me mentally & physically improve & create a healthy lifestyle & help me be more creative in my work and portfolio & if I can let people know then Maybe it could help you also.
