15th November and before our usual stop at Mc Donalds we first went to pick up the newest and youngest member of The Jaffa Journeys team, my nephew Conor. I have never seen someone so excited to go for a walk in the pouring rain in my life (apart from Tracey). the Journey was fun with a game or two of Eye spy & getting lost trying to find the entrance to the forest. Conor had a good laugh at Tracey for that.
We got parked up, got our gear sorted, hiking boots on and wrapped up for the rainy walk. Conor was first out and ready to go but we had to make a quick pitstop at the toilets as per usual. The walk started nice & dry with us going over our Jaffa Journey rules & reminders mainly about staying at the one spot for photos & trying to keep up with Tracey.
Conor decided he was going to jump in every Puddle he could & I for one wasn’t going to stop him or get too close for that matter. I simply stood back & took photos and videos of him splashing around & having a ball.
I had taken both Cameras today my Sony A7ii which I was using & my Canon 7d mk ii which I had been letting Conor use for a while until the rain got bad so then I let him use my Sony & my phone if he saw a shot he liked the look of. I love spending time with my nephew especially when he takes an interest & wants to be like his Uncle taking photos.
Continuing with the walk we came to a Deer enclosure which I ended up being sore with laughter afterwards. Conor thought it would be funny to make deer calling sounds so I joked around with him. I think the deer thought we were madmen. Tracey was laughing so much she didn’t realise people walking toward us & gave us funny looks. If you ever meet us out on our adventures please don’t panic, We are “normal”
We made our way around Parkanaur’s lovely scenery mostly dry until the home stretch when Conor the little monkey finally got me soaked from a Massive puddle that I had to walk through as I could not get around it any other way, he then got Tracey yet again before running on so we could not get him.
Safe to say we got back to the car a little less dry than we started & Conor was the only one with a spare change of clothing, so he changed in the car before having our lunch & discussing the walk. Myself & Tracey had planned a surprise for when we got home which was to present Conor with a medal for completing his 1st Jaffa Journey with us & welcoming him to the team & as I write this blog on December 20th he has taken charge of a Jaffa Journey that I won’t be going on due to work & has given instruction that he will be making sure all rules are followed whilst the boss (me) is not there, I think I have left Tracey in safe hands.
Don’t forget to follow my Instagram a.mcphotography1 for the shots of these trips, future trips and other projects to come you are more than welcome & if you want to message me about them or anything at all then feel free.
Until next time my friends Please, stay safe, healthy and keep exploring.
