Adventure Number 5 Donegal AGAIN! yes, that's right, Back to Donegal & right to Fanad Head Lighthouse. I had been wanting to go there for some time now thanks to Youtube couple & AMAZING People Chris Hau & Lizzie Pierce who made a video featuring it on their visit to Ireland & I must say it did not disappoint! and you should most defiantly check them out.
It started as you all know by now with our typical Mc Donalds Breakfast & photo before setting off. The journey started well, with lovely scenery & a trip down memory lane going through Kerrykeel where we spent many happy childhood days. once we got through the other side we had to putt over & head back to find a shop & get engine oil. Didn’t take long though until we were back on the road & nearing Fanad.
Once we got there we parked up & explored the gift shop & rocky coast for some photos before making our way to an abandoned Coast Guard & war outpost where I got some Great shots of Tracey. It had been a windy day at times but soon calmed & made for some Great far off shots of the Lighthouse and coast.
We then made our way off the cliffs and up toward the lighthouse but didn’t know you had to pay to get in around the main grounds of the lighthouse so headed back to the car for our lunch. Sitting munching away we thought about where to go next & Tracey decided Port Salon Beach.
It had been so long since I had been in Portsalon that I could not remember if I was on that beach or not. The walk along it was Great, from one side to the other. We got to a point where it seemed like a stream leading through the beach to the ocean was blocking us so decided to take our shoes & socks off & go through it.
The best thing about it was the sound of the ocean waves, sand between my toes and the fresh sea air clearing my mind. We got to the end of the beach & sat on rocks for a long time until we knew & saw the tide coming in so made our way back. I laughed so much at Tracey as she decided to run through a deepish section of water to get around a rock & soaked herself through. I managed to walk calmly after seeing this & stayed reasonably Dry.
Once back in the car we decided to make our way home after a lovely day. These adventures always seem to make me smile & give me so much enjoyment especially when I get to spend time with my Amazing Sister! who is becoming a big focus point in a lot of my photos.

Until next time my friends Please, stay safe, healthy and keep exploring.
